Shola Reflection - Jack O'Reilly
Traveling to chef Shola's kitchen was such an amazing experience. His expertise and true love for cooking was easy to see. He was a professional in every aspect. Not only did he have extensive knowledge of the chemistry behind cooking, but his food also tasted delicious. Overall, the environment of the kitchen was very homelike and I almost mistook it for his apartment initially. Otherwise, it was a great trip.
Shola is a cook, not a chef. In my opinion, in order to be considered a chef the food one is preparing must be served in a restaurant setting. Though Shola makes food for other people who pay for it, the basis of his cooking is the exploration of food and not necessarily just for the purpose of making money.
