The initial mixing and baking went really well. I was off to a great start. Then, as I used the open flame from the Bunsen Burner to heat the top layer of sugar into caramel, I completely screwed it up. The entire top layer was either burnt or undercooked, leaving the creme brulee tasting pretty nasty. If I could do something differently next time, instead of using a Bunsen Burner, I would use a real blow torch in order to more effectively and easily caramelize the top layer of sugar.
